I Believe

I believe guns are malicious aliens
From other galaxies
Sent here to kill us.
I believe countless worlds
Can be found
Inside a grain of dust.
I believe teachers know the world's works
The minute they are born.
I believe cardboard dances across
The deep blue sky
When exposed to plutonium.
I believe that radioactivity
Turns civilized people
Into terrible monsters
Who feast on inanimate objects.
I believe the sun's rays are emotion
Floating down from heaven.
I believe quasars shine evil into our kind hearts.

-Ben Gammage,
A Border Voices poet
